7th Level recently completed a wireless broadband solution for an elementary school in northeast PA. This will provide law enforcement personnel the ability to gain access to school’s internal camera system over WiFi in case there is an incident. Police will be able to view cameras from a greater distance outside the school prior to entry thus aiding in the safety of the officers as well as the students.
The equipment supports up to 200 Mbps actual throughput as well as VLAN support for greater security.
The project had many facets including procuring and evaluating the right equipment to fit this solution. This application utilized an omni-directional antenna and access point mounted to the exterior of the building. Engineering design included compatibility testing of the access point prior to install as well as determining proper grounding and selection of specialized equipment to protect Ethernet lines from lightening.
This is an ideal solution for every school from a safety standpoint. If you need to install or improve your camera system we can also assist you in selecting the right equipment as well as configuring your network for this application.
